How's this for candor?

ISLAM IN ITALY
Fulfilling the Prophecy

Like Iran's Ahmadinejad, the Muslims in Europe feel no need to be coy about their intentions.

Western Christianity is in a vise between an agressive secularism and Islam, and its own resistance to being crushed is weakened due to the sin within the church. I do not consider the Moslems' hopes that Rome will someday be theirs as too far fetched.

It's a shame that secularists do not see this. Christianity was the bulwark against Islamist expansion for centuries, and it paid a high price to defend us. Now Europe is one of the finest places in the world to live, due largely to its Christian heritage and American protection (the Enlightenment, which secularists always credit, is way overrated). I doubt, however, that our society has the moral and spiritual resources to withstand Islam.

Criticizing clerical abuse of children is justified and necessary and reforms must enacted to ensure that these crimes are kept to an absolute minimum. But those people who try to weaken the church because they believe that it's the main cause of society's ills are digging their own grave.
